No matter how hard we’ve tried, we fail miserably at reading people’s minds. Do us both a favor, please. If there is ANYTHING wrong tell us. Don’t worry about hurting our feelings, we love to be heros and save the day.

THATS NOT OCEAN SPRAY YOU’RE FEELING
If you don’t know it already, we are NOT on the edge of the ocean here at Stevenswood. No matter how hard we try to convey the fact that we are set back about 1/3 of a mile from the water and that all of our ocean views we call distant / partial, it seems to be overlooked once in a while. Usually, it’s the boyfriend who negelected to tell his sweetie that the place he’s taking her isn’t perched on a cliff dangling over the crashing Pacific, and when they get here both of us are in trouble.

YOU WOULD BE SHOCKED
Our entire team is trained at moving heaven and earth to impress a guest. We’ve been known to achieve the impossible sometimes, so try us. 

BE REALISTIC
We are a SMALL Bed and Breakfast located in a rural, remote and isloated part of the world.  Due to our small scale and limited resources, please let us know in advance about any special requirements or needs you may have.

We are not the best at remembering every detail about every special offer, package, donation or coupon – so please don’t be shy about reminding us if it seems we’ve forgotten something you were expecting.

TAKE IT PERSONALLY
Our success can also be our downfall. Every person at Stevenswood takes their craft very seriously and is committed to being the best at what we do. Sometimes when we get lazy, goof up or just have a set of real bad luck, we take it too personally. Never the less, if you let us know about something we’ve missed, we will make it right. We Promise!

NOTHING WORSE THAN AN EARLY GUEST
Have you ever been setting up for a dinner party, and that one guest decides to arrive 45 minutes early. You hair isn’t done. The dog is running around loose and you didn’t have a chance to take the pie out of the bakery box and put it in the oven like we just baked it…Okay maybe that hasn’t happened to you, but we want you to know that we are busy preparing for your arrival between the 11:00 AM check-outs and the 3:00 PM check-in guarantee. Please plan to arrive between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM whenever possible, if you arrive before 3:00 PM we might just hand you the vacuum cleaner and put you to work.

MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
One of the main features that we hear people love about Stevenswood is how tranquil and relaxing it is.  You can help us keep it that way by leaving the congo drums at home, (and maybe the husband if he’s too loud). People have said our walls are made of paper, but we checked and they aren’t. We are a small building however, and noise can really travel, so let us know if you have noise pollution. We will call the noise police and get it handled!  There are ear plugs in every guest room just in case your partner snores, and we have white noise generators available upon request. CHECK YOUR WATCH
Here are some times for easy reference: 
Breakfast is everyday:  8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, (Not 10:30 like some people think!)
Welcome Desk is open everyday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (If we’re tired we might close early, but the phone works just fine)
Dinner Service: Starts at 6:00 PM, everyday except Weds. and some special days such as Superbowl Sunday, 4th of July & Groundhog Day.
Phone Calls are put through to Guest Rooms During Welcome Desk Hours, however every room has a phone that you can dial out from 24/7.
We can not do wake up calls, but there is an alarm clock in your room which we are happy to help you set if needed.

HBO is on Channel 69. Anderson Cooper is on 41 and no, we don’t get the Playboy Channel or the Krazy Kittens channel either (are they the same?).
To call the Welcome Desk, dial ZERO (not the Oh), from your room.
To call your Mom, dial 807, then 1 and her 10 Digit number. Have you called yet?? By using “807″ it’s a FREE call within the US, so now there’s no excuse.

JOIN US FOR DINNER
We know you’ll enjoy breakfast and that’s great (and FREE!), but we really shine at dinner. Our team will be hard at work all day in preparation for an incredible and surprisingly affordable dinner. If you’re like us, you might think it’s more exciting and adventurous to go out to explore and not eat in the same place you are staying. That’s fine if you’re in town for a couple nights or more, but you owe it to yourself to at least try our dinner menu. Frankly, we count on high numbers of our lodging guests to dine with us, so if we’ve done something to make you think of going elsewhere, let us know and consider trying our extremely budget friendly, high quality, friendlydining room for dinner. We would be greatful and you will be happy — we promise.

GOING TO BED HUNGRY
So, one of the ironic things about the restaurant is that on really slow nights we might close early or not even open at all.
Inevitably, a few times when we make that call, the one guest who wanted to dine with us get’s annoyed that we closed and they missed out on our incredible restaurant.
It makes us want to cry. But, the solution is easy. We are a small dining room and simply ask that if you think you will dine with us, let us know! We’ll stay open just for you if we need to – don’t worry, it happens now and then and you’ll have a great evening of private dining. 
Bottom line, book a table so we know to expect you and that way we don’t close up and both of us miss out.

WHERE THE HELL ARE WE
If you are trying to put our location in your GPS device, good luck! Part of the “charm” of the area is that we are no properly geo-coded in most GPS databases. But, if you click here you’ll be taken to our MAPS AND DIRECTIONS which will help you out. Note that cell phones don’t work here so don’t get mad at us when the boss can’t reach you.

SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT
So, in case you didn’t know, we have a very nice cute little, full service spa in the lodge here. Not a monster spa facility, but definitely full service and relaxing. Plan a rejuevenating foot soak, nurturing massage, age defying facial or detoxifying body treatment from the spa menu, for those of you who travel with Paris Hilton. Did you also know we have a cute little fitness room with our distant / partial ocean views? It has a treadmill, recumbent bike and eliptical thingy. Plus a new Bowflex and a little 2-person (read: phonebooth) infra-red sauna. Check it out. 

GET SOAKED
One of the most expensive things to keep running for you here are the HOT TUBS and several times we hear from a guest that they didn’t even know we had them!  Cash in on the tremendous resources we dedicate to keeping them running smoothly (over 95% up time!) and enjoy a soak. There are two of them, one you can splash into anytime you want between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. The other, more intiment one requries an easy reservation (in person, at the Welcome Desk). It’s NO EXTRA CHARGE and is totally private for you and a loved one to enjoy some one-on-one time.

WHATS YOUR STORY
How much time have you got?  If you want to learn more about Stevenswood the Mendocino Coast in general and the area overall, you should have a chat with Nelson, the guy at the Welcome Desk, Thurs to Monday 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. He loves to talk about the area and his handlebar mustache. He’ll share stories for hours, plus it will allow us to get some work done.

ARE YOU EXPECTING
Our rooms are smartly furnished, and we have an excellent team of housekeepers who keep them sparkling clean. They vary in size from about 350 sq.ft. to about 500 sq.ft. Each room is equipped with ONE bed. We boast about our beds, since they are all the high-end, Tempur-pedic brand sleep systems, finished with very nice Egyptian Cotton linens, extra fluffy pillows and hypo-allergenic comforters. We wash everything every before any new arrival and promise to take your safety and comfort as our highest priority. We have our rooms professionally inspected every 6 months for any sign of bed bugs, mold, or anything that might annoy or irritate a guest. Our rooms are certified bed bug free and the Tempur-pedic beds are resistent to bugs too. Each room has a wood-burning fireplace (we stock them with neat eco friendly logs), a telephone, with cordless phone, a TV (some mini some larger) and DVD player with coffee maker in the room. If there’s something you need that we haven’t thought about let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
