“A wonderful stay…”

Stevenswood Resort is nestled in the woods just off Hwy 1 and is surrounded by nature and animals. We saw beautiful birds, llamas, and they even have a house cat named Marco (he’s a delight!). The views are amazing… there are trails to the cliffside bluffs by the ocean and down to the bay as well. We totally loved hiking around and enjoying the natural setting in this quaint little town. We had a dinner meal at Stevenswood and it was exceptional. The staff at the resort is kind, responsive, and accommodating. There are a few things around the property that could use some attention (repair, maintenance), but that didn’t affect our stay there in the least. The room was clean and spacious, the views were picturesque, and our stay was wonderful.

“we LOVE this place!”

Recently spent two nights here to celebrate an anniversary – we LOVE this place! The food is fantastic and elegant – generous breakfasts are included and the rooms are spacious and inviting — and the staff was really wonderful. Nelson is a jewel — we saw a movie being filmed on our way up the coast, and brought it up in conversation at the wine bar (yes, wine tastings here too). Nelson ended up giving us a 9 page print out of the many movies shot on location in the area – and engaged a few of us guests hanging out at the wine bar in a couple of really great stories! My husband indulged in a spa massage which was off the charts. The hot tub is a nice bonus for foggy cool evenings, too.

We hope to come back again soon!!

Nicole, Mendocino, is always a special treat for Martha and I, Our stay at Stevenswood was perfect! (LIKE THE WEATHER)! We are pretty low key people, and what I like most about staying at Stevenswood in addition to great accommodations, and food is the intuitiveness of the staff to know how much space each guest/couple requires. That in itself is an art. Stevenswood is four stars in my book. THANK YOU for assisting me in giving my wife a beautiful MOTHERS DAY PRESENT. Bill

Went to Mendocino for a gf spa getaway weekend. We were pleasantly greeted by Nelson who was a do it all type person. He was friendly n joyous, he checked us in smoothly, he escorted us up to our huge Stevens suite and showed us everything including our fireplace and proceeded to carry all our luggage in a single trip, provided us with extra linen n glasses and lastly fill up our ice bucket so our party could begin!! He gave us suggestions for dinner in town and informed us of the various parks that were near.

Our suite was huge with a queen size bed, double sofa bed, table and chairs and a mini fridge that actually kept our wine and snacks cold.

Complimentary full breakfast was the just the best with spinach, bacon and ham along with fresh fruit!

We also ate dinner the next day and the rack of lamb and duck was scrumptious!! Service again was exceptional!

Spa n facial were just heavenly!! This was my first facial and it was a wonderful experience!

Michael and staff went out of their way to make us feel comfy n pampered!!

Nice walk from the hotel to the bluff for a short morning walk. Town is just minutes away from the hotel as well as parks.

Would definitely come back again!! Thank you stevenswood resort!!

“Great”

We just stayed there this last week. We had booked on Groupon and after reading the other reviews were worried. We had no problems. They did ask us about having dinner there and we made reservations for the next night and were so glad we did. The food was excellent. It was so nice to have a wonderful dinner then just walk right down the hall to our room. We had excellent service and everyone was so nice. The first night we were there everyone was in the wine bar talking about all the wineries they had visited that day and it was so enjoyable.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked a return trip. The breakfast was wonderful too.

“Be prepared to be pampered.”

Once again my theory that you must see for yourself rather than rely solely on reviews paid off. I received a Stevenswood offer via internet and invited our Brother and Sister-In-Law to join us for a two night stay at Stevenswood. Just before leaving, I read the latest reviews and just about paniced. We did not experience even one of the problems related by the previous travelers.
Our room was the Queen facing the carriage house – it was spacious and very clean. The gardens and the trees are beautiful. We had a great time wine and olive oil tasting and visiting with the other guests, this was free. Everyone had their pets who were welcomed by the management. Our dining experience was excellent service wise, I had the Rack of Lamb – serving size was enough for me but both my husband and his brother were disappointed in quantity of food served, not the quality. Complimentary Breakfast was yummy, seemed like there was a choice to please all. I also enjoyed my first detox body wrap at the Spa and a massage that was taylored to my back problems.
We thoroughly enjoyed the staff – Nelson, of course, is everyones favorite – he absolutely aims to please all.

“Great Getaway Spot”

I thought this place represented great value for the dollar. The rooms are well appointed. The location is very convenient for shopping in Ft. Bragg or Mendocino. Directly across the road are some trailheads for great hiking along the shoreline with magnificent views of downtown Mendocino. It is also a short walk to the beach, a park and more hiking trails.

My girlfriends and I had the pleasure of staying here for a girls weekend getaway which was in the plans for almost 4 years. From the moment we came through the front door on Friday to the moment we left on Sunday afternoon, we were surrounded by the gentle hospitality of the Stevenswood staff. We stayed in the Stevens suite with tranquil views of the meadow, llamas, and chickens. We were lucky to have had beautiful weather and enjoyed the open decks and hot tubs. We took the short hike to the scenic bluffs and included a couple of hours to enjoy shopping in Mendocino with all the unique stores. Back to the resort for massage and spa treatments, which were good for the soul and oh-so-relaxing! The evening ended at their restaurant with an incredible dinner (we enjoyed the rack of lamb and duck). Both our breakfasts and dinners were superb and our compliments to the chefs!

We would love to make this an annual trip and hopefully wont wait 4 years to do it again!

Having lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and visiting Mendocino often, and being a fine arts photographer who has travelled North America and Europe alone; I was pleasantly surprised to find Stevenswood. Everyone was wonderful from the owners to the helpful housecleaner. They went out of their way to be kind to me. The food was very good and the room and view spectacular. It’s kind of hidden away alone which makes it very quiet. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

“I loved it there and would love to return soon”

This was my second stay at Stevenswood. The staff is wonderfully helpful, and the rooms are spacious. It is extremely beautiful and peaceful on the property and a great choice for the Mendocino coast. The restaurant is excellent. The breakfasts are included, but they also offer dinner. The lamb chops melted in my mouth! I loved it there and would love to return soon.
