“Classy, fantastic weekend at Stevenswood – 5-star all the way”
This was one of the best small hotels I’ve stayed in and I travel extensively. 5-star service and accommodations. Location is excellent just a couple minutes drive from Mendocino and a beautiful walk to the beach and cliffs nearby. They got everything right – everything I love about a great hotel.
*classy – upscale feel and what I would call ‘California coast modern’ look; clean lines to the decor, warm wood tones, candles in the lobby
*extremely clean (I am very picky on this)
*fabulous food – especially the included full gourmet breakfast
*great concierge service at check-in and throughout
*quiet and peaceful
*fireplace in room; hot tubs on property; robes; complimentary wine; espresso maker in room
*very clean modern bathroom with clear glass sinks; great bath products
*exudes casual class
*great linens, towels, bed very comfy
*windows situated to showcase the beautiful trees surrounding
*restaurant dinner is fantastic and memorable – top high cuisine in a 3- 4- or 5-course prix fixe (65.-120. per person) – however my only complaint… chef please, the portions could be slightly bigger (have a snack ahead of time or go for the 5-course)
*there is no bar or lounge on the property
*the spa takes SpaFinder gift certificates
Excellent overall – I can’t wait to go back.
