“Truly Exceptional!”
My husband and I stayed at this lovely resort hotel for my birthday last weekend and it was truly exceptional. The setting is woodsy and secluded, but the hotel itself was first-rate. We have traveled extensively in the US, Europe, and Latin America and this place was definitely top tier. There are 10 large suites, and ours had a fireplace in the living room, a temperpedic mattress, and large windows that look out on the forest and/or the ocean. They gave us a bottle of complimentary wine when they took us to our room. They feed the birds and squirrels on the property so they are visible on the grounds. The restaurant was expensive, but excellent with great service and it was nice that the chef brought out several courses and greeted the guests. The cooked-to-order breakfast (included in the room rate) was delicious and more imaginative than any kind of standard fare. We also registered our dog, Davey, who got fussed over by all the staff and was given a dog biscuit , a special bowl, and Italian bottled water upon check in. Perhaps the best feature of all was how gracious, friendly, and professional all the staff were to the guests. It is definitely worth it to book this hotel via their internet site because it has last minute specials with substantial reductions. Although we were told we had the best room in the house, we peaked in several other rooms, and they seemed very comparable.
