The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse has a beautiful picturesque view of the Pacific Ocean and the headlands. Rebecca Lonmicky & David Brewer will be on the coast to teach at Lark in the Morning Music Camp.
David Brewer Biography: David Brewer is a founding member of the popular west coast coast Celtic Band, Molly’s Revenge, which was voted Best Band of 2005 at the live Oak Music Festival in Santa Ynez, California, and has performed nationally and internationally.
David is from Scottish descendant and a native of Oregon. He has traveled to Scotland to study with master teachers. He has also been featured as a soloist at Barra Feis Piping Recital in Scotland, and toured nationally with Tomaseen Foley’s Celtic Christmas Show as the featured uilleann piper, and has been a featured piper for a west coast tour with super group, The Blind Dogs and a special guest of the six time Grammy winning group, The Chieftains.
Also an avid teacher, David has taught at many notable workshops including the Pebble Beach Piping School, Sebastopol & The Community Music School of Santa Cruz summer camps. He is also the founder of the St. Andrew’s Academy concert series. Mr. Brewer continues to teach privately and his students have received accolades from the National Piping Centre of Scotland.
Rebecca Lomnicky: Rebecca began playing classical violin and piano at age 5, and discovered Scottish fiddle music a few short years later. In 2005, she won the Junior Division of the United States National Scottish Fiddle Competition, and in 2006 recorded her first CD.
In 2009, Rebecca won the 20th Annual Glenfiddich International Scottish Fiddle Championship. In 2007, 2008, 2009, Rebecca received the Goldie Rogers Award for original music composition. She has traveled to Italy on tour and has performed in China.
Rebecca is studying music and anthropology at Cornell University where she is a member of the Cornell Chamber Orchestra. She has spent the last several summers touring throughout the United States performing as a guest with the well-known West Coast Celtic Band, Molly’s Revenge.
