My fiancé and I stayed here one night while driving up the coast. The lodge is very cute and the landscaping is gorgeous. We arrived in the evening and went down for dinner. The food was very upscale – delicious! I had the petite filet with a mushroom sauce and my fiancé had the lamb shanks. We shared an amazing crab appetizer with clarified butter and some spice which I think was chili. Afterwards we jumped in the hot tub and then over to the infrared sauna for a bit. It is pretty small, just big enough for us two. It was a great end to the night. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows, and the room a nice size with lots of windows. The blinds were dark which is nice if you want to sleep in, which my fiancé did. I got up and drove around the area in the early morning rain. The nearby beach town is so cute and I saw tons of surfers and boaters suiting up for the cold ocean waves. Breakfast was included and started at 830. It was also delicious. They really have an amazing chef there. The service was friendly and I especially liked meeting the resident cat named Marco. A sweet cat that the owners adopted. There were spa services available, but they were pricey. Maybe not for a resort, but I’m used to Illinois prices at the local massage envy. The waitress gave us recommendations for parks to visit. There are many in the area and worth your time. I would definitely come back.
