It’s coming time for the 16th Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Festival, for the coming dates of May 12, 2012. This year’s theme is Zombie Apocalypse….if it’s the last year we’re going to be alive, you might as well make it to the greatest beerfest of all time!

But did you know that the Boonville Beer Festival began in 1997. The inaugural event was such a success that the following year the Anderson Valley Brewing Company decided to invite other breweries and charged admission to raise profits for their community. The Anderson Valley Brewing Company invites breweries from all over the west to showcase their wares in a pleasant, festive outdoor setting. Last years Legendary Boonville Beer Festival featured over 80 breweries and had an attendance with more than 5,000 supporters.

Last years festival (2011) raised $90,000 to help support local non-profits, and to date the Anderson Valley community has benefited from proceeds exceeding $650,000.

Proceeds for 2011 has helped local organizations like the Anderson Valley Animal Rescue, Parent Teacher Association, Elderhome, Education Foundation, Sports Boosters, Senior Center, Historical Society,  Anderson Valley Fire Department and Volunteer Firefighters Association, Anderson Valley Ambulance, Kimmies, Navarro River Resource, Anderson Valley Land Trust, Anderson Valley Health Center, Anderson Valley Housing Authority,  Anderson Valley Lions Club, Emerald Earth Sanctuary, and the Mendocino County Fairgrounds. Many of the grateful recipients made note that their non-profit would not be in here without there help.

So once again plan on attending the 16th Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Festival, which is held at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds, in Boonville, here in Mendocino County, California. Taps will be open from 1:00 – 5:00 pm., and the music continues until 6:00 pm. For tickets or information call 707-895-BEER ext. 40. Advance tickets are $40 or at the gate is $55, (cash only).
