My girlfriend and I stayed at Stevenswood for one night while on our trek from San Francisco to Seattle. I was a bit concerned when we arrived at the place, since it’s in the middle of nowhere and seemed really quiet. We tend to be night owls and enjoy more lively atmospheres (but not crowds). The staff greeted us warmly and were extremely accomodating to us, getting us anything we needed. They explained all of the amenities and left us alone.
First off -the room was awesome. We had a great view of trees and a farm next door. No parking lot views here. It was like we were in a private house. The fireplace was great, and the room was filled with everything we needed. Nice TV, fridge, bar, and nice bathrooms. The room was very CLEAN and we really liked it. Since the only options for dinner involved driving the harrowing Route 1 at night into town, we opted to dine at Stevenswood. The dining room was really quiet (not really our style) but the food was delicious. I mean….delicious. The waitress was great and took care of us.
If you are looking for a really nice retreat or a great place to stay on a trip up the coast, I would definitely stay here again. I just wish the hot tub/sauna was open later. 10pm is a bit early, but I guess I understand that some guests want peace and quiet after that time.
